To quote one of my heroes of business and gaming, the late Satoru Iwata:

Please understand.

That was the legend's way delivering contrition when faced with a disappointing release delay.

You might have guessed where this is going.

Yes, Legacy of the Cage II will not be releasing on August 1 of this year. Sometimes, in this beautiful game of making games, the other parts of life show up unannounced and squash your best laid plans.

I treat my game business like I do any other business. I keep schedules, maintain a backlog, phase efforts accordingly. Like other businesses, this one took a little detour on the way to production town.

Don't fret. Legacy of the Cage II will be out this year. However, I am going to keep the release date an insider's secret until we're looking at a near-shippable product. There's no sense in baiting you fine fans and pulling the football yet another time.

Poor Charlie Brown.

Meanwhile, I hope you continue to savor your summer and all the games and experiences that bring you joy and excitement. It's Father's Day morning as I write this. It's a beautiful one at that. I wish you a Happy Father's Day and I'll be back soon with more updates and insights.
