The Best Ideas Come From Chaos

Who's going to clean up all that worthless paper?

The Beauty of Messes

Legacy of the Cage doesn't happen without Covid.

Now, I'm not cheering for that particularly insane part of our collective lives and I don't think I'd wish for another situation quite like that ever again.

But, the upheaval brought some brilliance!

I had time to reflect on more things than usual. I had the chance to roll the dice (har har) on some new ideas. We were playing so many games online together that it made sense to flex my designs finally, for real. I had a built in playtesting audience glued to computers!

The perfect storm to take the perfect shot.

And, take the shot I did.

Now, three years on, we're looking at a new opportunity to take Legacy of the Cage to the next level.

I'm finding ways to harness both planned and unplanned chaos to give me space to create and reflect. I can build these into my life by:

  • Booking a small, but loosely organized vacation (e.g. solo hiking trip, Las Vegas weekend [aka chaos incarnate])
  • Try a new intermittent fasting program (not recommended for everyone, but the mental shifts are interesting on a different eating schedule)
  • Going on a super hard ruck; exploring a new local park or trail

You don't need to wait until the next global catastrophe to find your time to shine.

Take a chance on yourself today and if you have to shake the box, shake it hard.

Don't look back.
